Roller Moll

So ... I have been looking for something to do that will help me get my fitness back. I can't make it to the gym at the times the classes I want to go to are on.

I need something fun though because I HATE exercising. I'm okay once I get motivated but until then I am a bit of a friend to the chill out. I also love to have a bit of a chat and meet some new blood so this is also something that needs to be taken into consideration.

So ... fun + social + motivating .... only one answer

ROLLER DERBY ...

there's a bit of a demo on this Friday so I'm going to check out the place and the team and see what I see, but gotta say I'm a bit keen for it.

Haven't put a pair of skates on (let alone quads) since 1980-something so this should be PRECIOUS.

Hahahah

I'm getting all excited ... have to come up with a name too. Hmmm any ideas?

Breast Cancer Research

I don't know if you are familiar with my myspace profiles but for a while now I have been donating 20% of the total sale price of all pink items sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation via paypal payments.

I donate this amount on behalf of the buyer of the item/garment that is bought.

It includes anything pink. Any item that is pink and any garment that has been made from pink fabric, or is lined in pink or has pink panels etc.

There are a lot of people out there suffering because of this cancer and I just wanted to what little I could because I can't afford much either.

So if you see something of mine you like ... and it's pink ... know that you're helping too

I'm not gay but ...

I'd probably consider it for Katie Moennig ... ;P

Memories and new beginnings ... I love TEA

Once upon a time there was a girl who finally found a housemate who drank as much tea as she...

When we moved in together Kim and I were given a housewarming present from Scott. It was a cheetah print teapot and two mugs. When Kim and I parted I thought that as Scott was more her friend it was only right she took the pot. We don't know what happened to it.

(I seem to have a gift. When I think hard enough about something and follow my gut instinct (usually on impulse) I find exactly what (or who) I am searching for.)

So I missed this teapot because of it's quirky kitchiness and wanted it badly for my teapot collection. I rang Kim in the UK but she didn't know what happened to it.

A few days later I had a sudden urge to stop at an op shop and as I was scanning the clothes I walked down the back and voila ... there is an exact copy of the pot and two mugs.

Seriously wouldn't surprise me if this was the same one.

Reminds me actually of another like this ... Kim bought me two beautiful glasses for my birthday one year and again on an op shop tour I found another two to match.

Love it when this kind of magic happens

Oh My Oh My

Look what my darling just bought me!
It's beautiful ... I love and love and love it ... just what I needed after my previous watch decided to jump off my arm in the driveway and I found it the next day after I had run over it ...

I love to find stuff ...

So I had a birthday last week and although Pete was away in Perth and I had to work that night so I couldn't catch up with my girls - I had a great day. I spent the morning wandering through op shops and then over to Chermside Westfield.

I love having a birthday at this time of yr. Most everyone who knows me knows that unless they have something specific in mind for me a voucher is gold because of the stocktake sales!

I found a fantastic saucepan, a gorgeous hat, and a few other bibs and bobs that I Adooorrrrrree (little hearts everywhere).

I also got a cool card from Kimothy (my bestie in the UK)

Pete and the kids got me a *magical* button/badge maker so Erin and I will be busy making some coolio pins to wear and sell at the markets!

I have the beautiful Betty Blue (see previous blog), I have a handful of quirky gifts I love and some pretty fabulous ppl in my world.

Life is looking pretty golden.

The only thing I could use to make it even better is some more time to actually get creative!
My head is bursting with ideas and my fingers twitch to get them made but time is scarce here and I have about 1 day a week to actually do anything for myself because of work and family commitments. ;( Sad face. I'm actually turning down jobs ---- arrggghhhh

Oh well ... maybe if the markets kick off and I can get back on ebay and etsy I can do less hours at work and work more from home.

Yay

My New Baby ...

This is our new baby. She needs a bit of love and a bit of work but when she's done she's going to be beautiful.

Pete and I found her and rescued her as soon as we could.

She's a 1964 Holden EH. She's running a 179ltr with a 5 speed toyoto on the floor. There's about 80 000 on the recon engine and with some work on the body (rust) and the interior (door trims and front seat) she'll be ready for a new colour (I'm happy with this one but hey!) and of course some flames ... hehehe ... she's beautiful and purrs and I love her.

I have secretly named her Betty Blue or Beebee ... but don't tell Pete. He can't think of a name and a gal like this needs a name.

Owlies

I have had a bit of a crush on owls for a while but in the last yr I have become downright obsessed.

I keep seeing them everywhere ... gorgeous owls. I have a thing for owls and ravens. I have a small collection (I find them hard to get a hold of for a price I can afford - and for something that I actually like too!)

I am about to add to my tattoo collection with a gorgeous owl - and I was loving that they were not overly commercialised ... yet now I see them everywhere! Kinda sad but also happy because it means availability is 100%.
What I love most though are the individual owlies that are hand made.

If you see any owlies anywhere please let me know ... I can give them a good home where they'll be loved!
