Art Nouveau is magic

I have BIG LOVE for Art Nouveau.

It inspires me, delights me and presses a multitude of buttons I wont go into here.
From architecture, artwork, jewellery, and more it is just fabulous.
It seems to have a mercurial magic that gives it a timelessness. It is past present and future, it's mythical and supernatural as well as futuristic.

If you are new to Art Nouveau it's a movement at the turn of the 20th Century. The term is french and means 'New Art', it is also known as Jugendstil, German for 'youth style', named after the magazine Jugend, which promoted it.
A reaction to Academic Artof the 19th century, it is characterized by organic, especially floral and other plant-inspired motifs, as well as highly-stylized, flowing curvilinear forms.

Art Nouveau is an approach to design according to which artists should work on everything from architecture to furniture, making art part of everyday life.

I too am an Art Nouveau fan. I absolutely love those two buildings - where are they?

I love Art Nouveau! That entrance in the very first photo is wild! How awesome it would be to arrive home to walk through a door like that everyday. A crappy day at work would be forgotten very quickly! :)

I love Art Nouveau too. When I was a kid my mum had an adult art nouveau colouring book which was just so beautiful.

.....and speaking of robot singlets, I'm just a little bit smitten with my clips at the moment and would love some more so maybe we can do a swap :)
