Rainy days aren't always blue ...

I had designated today as a sneak peek day for some new things I'll be bringing to the BrisStyle Markets on Saturday the 6th.

However, this morning I was woken from my slumber by the phone ... it was my Mum and she had some great news.

My brother had called her and wanted to come back to Brisbane.

You see 10 yrs ago my brother had some personal and relationship stuff to work through and went on a bit of a nomadic wander. He has lived all over the country working on farms and orchards and who knows what else!

The last time I spoke to my brother was 8 years ago.
He called me for a chat and told me he was in Adelaide. 2 weeks later he called my Dad from Alice Springs and asked if he could stay with Dad and get some money to come for Christmas. That was 2001. He never turned up and we were worried.

Technically he wasn't a missing person and the police wouldn't/couldn't help. He was an adult (24) and there was nothing we could do but wait.

Lately all of us have been thinking of him more as my Grandmother passed away and the whole family was there except him. All the cousins, all the nieces and nephews, his kids even. He has 2 kids he hasn't seen in 8 years or more, 1 niece and three nephews he's never met. He's lost a Grandmother and missed our parents divorce. He has a step mum and 3 step sisters and oh so much more ..

And then bang! A phonecall on a Tuesday morning, "I want to come home, I don't know my family and I don't like it".

Awesome

Best day ever

Welcome home little brother, I missed you.

That's great Katie. A member of our family disapeared for 42 years so I know what you mean...

Oh Katie, how wonderful for your family. There will be so much catching up to do. Having lost my "baby" brother a little over a year ago, I know how much they mean to us.

Oh Katie, I can only imagine how you must be feeling! How wonderful and overwhelming and scary and fantastic and completely nerve-wracking all at the same time. I hope he makes it home safely this time!

See you Saturday :)

Katie, that is great news! I hope your brother adjusts well to coming home again - it sounds like a lot has happened while he's been away. It is always wonderful to find a loved one when they've been 'lost' for so long. ^_^

I am so glad your family is about to enter a new part of it's story. What a beautiful surprise. Your hearts must be so full of different emotions. I'll be saying a little prayer for you all. Lisa x
