A dilemma ... do I or don't I ...to sew or not to sew

I have run out of Labels to sew into my clothes ... and after sourcing more my supplier has kindly informed me that due to the Chinese New Year holiday I wont be able to get any more until mid march .... argggh

What do I do ... sew my stuff without labels?
Not make any more clothes?
Find a substitute?

Any ideas would be welcomed ... I have 3 markets coming up well before Mid march and I really am stuck!

I'm not against sewing without labels ... for a long time I did just that ... but do you think it matters if the clothes only have size and care labels?

Substitute me for him
Substitute my coke for gin
Substitute you for my mum
At least I'll get my washing done

Sorry....it's the first thing that popped into my head when I read your post, the Sex Pistols version, not The Who......anyway, I reckon Substitute!!!

You can't go past good advice from the Sex Pistols...or Sam for that matter. Substitute if you can otherwise just go with the size and your awesome schwiiing tag.

Can't wait to see all of your new designs at the March BiDM xox

Go without, you could always ask the customer if they wanted a label sent to them.......Kxx

i know so little about sewing, but i've seen a few items of clothes with the branding printed straight onto the fabric, it always looks cool and is more comfy without a tag. maybe stitch the words Kitty Boo Boo (or KBB) where the tag would be? might be a lot of effort though... oh well, an idea anyway :)

You gotta love Sam haven't you :) I'd sew without... Otherwise I saw some people on Etsy (US based) that will make custom ones that you may be able to order in smaller amounts until your supplier is back.

I'd love to help you out, but I only have children's sizes up to 6. I'd go simply with a swing tag with all the info, or maybe you could get some blank cloth labels (even cut up your own in an emergency) and use your artistic endeavours with a permanent waterproof pen, even if it's just the size. Or how about using some fabric ribbon to write or embroider on? Grosgrain would look classy. You have my permission to disregard all of this!

Hmmmm, I know peronally I wouldn't care if I bought something without a label on it, but it is a shame from an advertising point of view. I'd probably be like Melanie & sew without (hell what am I saying, I HAVE done that before) but if you can be bothered then it's probably good to heed the sage wisdom of the sex pistols....
