BrisStyle Christmas Markets Review

What a fantastic day! I can't believe how awesome the day was even though the weather was so steamy and I got so sweaty.

It was brilliant to meet the ladies I have been talking to and admiring wares from afar - the only downfall (and it's not really one :P) was my wishlist grew as the day progressed and I got to see more creative and beautiful things!

I want to say thanks to all the people who came and bought stuff - thanks to the girls who watched my stall (I was flying solo) when I had to duck off - thanks especially to Helen, Tracy and all the girls who are a part of the committee who worked so hard to get it all organised.

We had our own Olivia from Scampsville who does a Saturday arvo show on 4ZzZ interview some of the stall holders.

The food and drinks were divine with Homemade Lemonade and Iced Tea (from Billy tea with Mint), assorted wraps (DELICIOUS!!) and lots of sweets thanks to the ladies who took the time to make us all a treat! Thanks again or the gingerbread stars - they were amazing!

Can't wait for the next markets
I'll post another blog with more of the market photos but here are some pics of the things I bought!

Sammy is wearing his new PJ's from Mimoo, the gorgeous Kitty is made by Lauren at Raspberry Pink, the cutie pie buttons are from Little Mary Moo and the birdie is a brooch and are made by Hayley at REread.

Thanks Lauren for making the Kitty a pendant for me - you are aces!

Another score ...

In my op shopping lately I have found these darling things - Pete's not so happy - he doesn't like bric-a-brac (much to my horror hee hee) but I shall find somewhere for the precious pieces

I can't believe the spree yielded TWO owlies

Sensational

Yay - finally some crafty-ness in this blog!

So it seems I have managed to get some things made and actually put them into my blog! Surprise surprise.
I started this blog for my little craft corner and had no time to actually make anything!
So this little spot is a bit of a mish mash of my daily life, my craft and sewing, ideas and other such headfilling must be released stuff.

So look through my blog archive in Dec and you'll see lots and lots of stuff I'm making!

I'm trying to prep some patterns and downloads for you too! Let me know if you want anything in particular ... no point putting freebies up if no-one wants it!

BrisStyle Market MANIA

THIS IS A COPY OF THE LATEST BLOG POSTED ON BRISSTYLE ABOUT THE UPCOMING MARKETS ON SATURDAY

Oh! You better watch out,
You better not cry,
You better not pout,
I'm telling you why:
BrisStyle is coming to town!

(town in this case referring to the sweet suburb of Hamilton)

Only five more sleeps until the very first BrisStyle market! It’s just as exciting as that other big event which takes place later in the month involving the chimney sliding shenanigans of one very jovial fellow with an odd fondness for furry red suits.

(a selection of some of the delights created by stall-holders)

Approximately 30 BrisStyle members are participating in the market, so there certainly will be a diverse range of well-crafted and exciting wares on offer. It promises to be a fun and festive day, with live music, and tasty treats and refreshments available in the beautiful courtyard of the charming old Hamilton Town Hall. Also, BrisStyle’s favourite radio station 4ZzZ will be broadcasting live from the event in the afternoon as part of the popular and award winning At The Local program which is hosted by BrisStyle member Olivia (Scampsville) between 1pm and 2pm every Saturday. And if you ever miss the program the good news is that you can always listen to their podcasts anytime.

This market is the first of many that BrisStyle plan to have in the future and it was decided that the group will support a different local charity at each market event. The stall-holders will be donating a gift or voucher towards a raffle prize and tickets will be sold on the day, with all money raised being donated towards the chosen charity. The charities will also be given the opportunity to have a stall (at no charge) at each market to further promote themselves and provide information about what they do. The charity BrisStyle are supporting this Saturday is Knitting For Brisbane’s Needy and all the details can be found here about this crafty cause.

For those who are unable to attend the market, here is a list of all the participating BrisStyle member Etsy shops to check out at your leisure. From wherever you happen to reside. We certainly don’t want our faraway friends to feel left out of the fun!

A new place for me ...

A few months ago I became a member of the BrisStyle Team. This fantastic idea was set up by a few lovely ladies who thought it would be a great idea for Crafty Crafters and Makers of Brisbane who sell their wares on etsy to make a group and support eachother with events and meetings and other fun stuff.
I'm fumbling my way around at the moment but everyone I have come in contact with is truly lovely and their stuff is TO DIE FOR.
