First Day strikes again ...

Last year it was Erin's first day at Prep and Sam's first day at daycare without Erin.

This year Erin started Grade 1.

She was so eager to get there it wasn't funny, she settled in straight away and hardly missed us as we kind of wondered what to do walking out the door.

The quiet days go quicker than the noisy ones ...

Australia Day ...

What can I say ... Aussie Aussie Aussie

It's more than a feeling ...

More weddings, more family, more fun.
The morning started with a little shower but the bride was beautiful and the groom handsome.
The sun soon followed and we all enjoyed a glorious breakfast back at Mick and Jo's.
I love these kind of relly bash's...

Day Trips are the best ...

Nothing better to while away the last days of the school holidays than a nice little jaunt to get a moment of seaside bliss ... we visited some friends for the afternoon and just hung out soaking up the sweet sea air and salty goodness of the ocean ... I love living so close to perfect beaches as well as secluded rainforests ...

New Books

Erin and I spent one of her last days of the school holidays at the Convention Centre in Brisbane at while it hosted the annual Lifeline Bookfest. We both got heaps of bargains - story books, craft books, kids books, dvd's, cd's, computer games etc ... there was heaps on offer.

Here's Erin towing the special 'book trolley' I rigged up. A small one for her and a BIG one for me ... lol

Sam has been watching Care Bears heaps lately and adores Braveheart the Lion Care Bear Cousin ... it so happens that 'back in the '8o's' my sisters were freaks for the bears with pics on their tums and so my sister dragged out Cheer Bear and an Original Braveheart ... whos the happiest Care Bear lover now? (Thanks Trish)

The Reason ...

I am having this massive clearout of my sewing room for 1 main reason ... to be able to bring home this little darling .

I first saw a glimpse before it hit the market when I was at a Brother training session and fell in love with it then back in September
I have madly fallen in love with this machine but I am not allowed to bring it home until I have made room in my sewing room.

I am having a massive yard (yardage hehe) sale on Sat with my friends, family and fellow BrisStylettes which should be fun and help me get closer to my goal! I'll let you know how it goes ...

Here's some reasons why I love the NV 900 ...

  • It is a combination Sewing and Embroidery machine and so compact!
  • All the Brother embroidery cards are compatible .. except Disney
  • You can hook yourself up to the internet via the USB port and download straight to the machine
  • 129 utility and decorative stitches
  • 10 one step buttonholes 70 Built in embroidery stitches and a disc with 100 more
OOOhhhh I love it

It was just "road tested" in October's 2008 Machine Embroidery and Textile Art by Yvonne Keen commented "this is not a base machine with no features. It is actually packed with features normally found only on more expensive machines" and "the large embroidery screen is easy to see and there is an animated step by step instruction guide built in." "This is literally a machine you could easily take anywhere such as to classes or even in the caravan when on holdays...you won't be disappointed."

I bet I wont .... ;P

NEW STUFF and OLD STUFF

I am clearing out the sewing room to make way for my new baby (Brother NV900) ... so visit my eBay store to grab a bargain over the next few weeks
