All things Tea Party

So Tea Parties have been on my mind ever since the women in my family have decided to pool together every qtr and drink tea, coffee, booze and hang out. We're talking cousins, Aunts, Grandparents, 2nd cousins, etc etc.

I'm hosting the next one. It will be the 4th Tea Party and I have been inspired by so many things ... as it's going to be in March I've decided everyone must come with a hat on their head.

I think that eventually I'll let colour dictate the rest ...

Maybe you can organise a tea party for your family or friends? Here's some prettiness to inspire you

Quiet spots ...

Now that the cooler weather seems to be settling in, these little niches seem the ideal place to snuggle into with a good book, pot of tea and a wee bit of embroidery ...

Subconscious collecting ...

I do it even when I'm not trying! I was looking in my cupboard for a suitable mug for my beloved tea when I realised that I have started another collection.
Landscape mugs. Seems I didn't even know I had a penchant for them, but the proof is in the cupboard ...

Oh Goody ...

On Thursday my beloved friend Kim will be visiting. She is here from the UK for a friend of hers wedding ... I miss her all the time and whenever she is in Australia she tries to catch up with us.
Usually we get a night out of her (this is seriously a big deal - as she is usually here for about 7-14 days and with family and friends all over Australia to catch up with it's a mission!)
I love my Kim and I can't wait to hug her and drink lots of tea and catch up on everything.

Tea and Crafty too? This I have to see ....

I like to drive and I like to explore and find things. One of the best things to put a cranky kid in a good mood is to go for a wee drive to get the little tike of to sleep and then a snack when the aforesaid tike awakes!

Last week Sammy and I went on a 'soothe the angry beast' drive and wound up in Samford. A small semi-rural town a few kms away from where I live but a good half hour from the city.
We came across a sweet place called lifestyle where the establishment consisted of a Homeopathic treatment clinic/Nursery/Cafe and Gift Stores.
We had tea and banana cake (well I had the tea and Sam had the banana cake!) They didn't have my favourite (Irish Breakfast) but I settled for Russian Caravan and then we set off to see what we could see ... here's a peek-a-boo for you -

PS I love the fact that I once again found my owl and pussy cat (minus the pea green boat - unless of course you wait for the copper to oxidise!)

Memories and new beginnings ... I love TEA

Once upon a time there was a girl who finally found a housemate who drank as much tea as she...

When we moved in together Kim and I were given a housewarming present from Scott. It was a cheetah print teapot and two mugs. When Kim and I parted I thought that as Scott was more her friend it was only right she took the pot. We don't know what happened to it.

(I seem to have a gift. When I think hard enough about something and follow my gut instinct (usually on impulse) I find exactly what (or who) I am searching for.)

So I missed this teapot because of it's quirky kitchiness and wanted it badly for my teapot collection. I rang Kim in the UK but she didn't know what happened to it.

A few days later I had a sudden urge to stop at an op shop and as I was scanning the clothes I walked down the back and voila ... there is an exact copy of the pot and two mugs.

Seriously wouldn't surprise me if this was the same one.

Reminds me actually of another like this ... Kim bought me two beautiful glasses for my birthday one year and again on an op shop tour I found another two to match.

Love it when this kind of magic happens
